I am an artist, a painter, a sister, an aunt, a fiancé, and a cat mom.

My name is Mikayla, but everyone calls me by my Mickey because I have to many friends named Mikaylah, Makayla, etc.. I currently reside in Eastern, NC with my fiancé Nick and our cat, Rahliegh. I love spending time with family and friends when I have the chance. I am a passionate artist who loves creating work about people and for people.

My passion for art led me to earn my BFA in Studio Art at Coker University in Hartsville, SC, also my hometown. I spent my time in undergrad honing my painting and drawing skills. My art style can be described as loosely impressionistic, full of life and color.

My personal art interests are concepts of capitalism and personal relationships. I explore ideas of capitalism and personal relationships through drawn landscapes and painted portraits. My work speaks upon our personal relationship with our work, capital, and surrounding environments. I raise questions about the intersectionality of class, race, gender, and capital in America.

Outside of art, I am bubbly, bit of an intro/extrovert, hardworking, and I love going on adventures.

While I have not committed to my painting career full time, I am still excited and hope to work with you in the future.

With Love, Mickey

I’m Mickey…
